Eclipse Elliptical Trainer Review - How Do They Compare?

!±8± Eclipse Elliptical Trainer Review - How Do They Compare?

Eclipse elliptical trainers are made and sold by Fitness Quest - the same people that make the Ab Lounge, Total Gym and the Tony Little Gazelle.

While this doesn't give them the best reputation for building high quality, strong elliptical trainers, surprisingly their Eclipse line of ellipticals seemed to be very popular for a while.

This was in large part due to their low prices - these ellipticals ranged from 0 - 0. They were also featured in infomercials and sold through discount stores like Kmart.

Lately however, the brand seems to have stagnated and Fitness Quest is no longer offering many of the more popular models like the 4100. In fact, as of this writing, the only one Fitness Quest is even selling is the 1100 HR elliptical.

Plus, other brands are overtaking them with affordable (under 0) ellipticals that offer longer strides and better warranties.

So let's say you can find an Eclipse elliptical - probably the 1100 HR trainer. Is it a good value? And how does it stack up against similarly priced machines?

The Eclipse 1100 elliptical does have some decent basics. The console is well-laid out and easy to read. There's a heart rate monitor and even 6 built-in programs. User reviews have also tended to be positive - commenting on how fast and efficient the customer service people acted when there were problems.

However there are some major weaknesses.

You only get a 15" stride. This is quite short - most people want a longer stride to ensure your legs are getting the full range of motion. A longer stride also feels more comfortable and gives a more effective workout. Most quality ellipticals will offer a stride of 18" or 20".

And while the reviews are good for this elliptical, most users acknowledge that they had to fix their elliptical once or even several times over the course of owning it. There have also been problems reported with the flywheels coming loose.

Also note that the 1175e Eclipse trainer was recalled for safety by Fitness Quest. The cranks that connect the foot platforms to the wheel at the rear of the machine can break during use. If a crank breaks, the exerciser can fall off the machine. People who own this machine should stop using it immediately.

So what's the bottom line?

It's really up to you but keep in mind that these are discount ellipticals from a company that produces some of the more gimicky infomercial fitness equipment. So you're not buying from a manufacturer that has years of experience producing high quality, long-lasting elliptical trainers.

While user reviews have been positive overall, most do admit to having to fix their elliptical in some way. So if you're not handy, this may mean some headaches for you - or just a lot of wasted time shipping the elliptical back to the store.

And while these ellipticals used to be more popular, they've been overtaken by stronger brands that give you longer strides, better warranties, more fitness programs, and much better overall construction.

Proform 675 Elliptical Trainer Problems

!±8± Proform 675 Elliptical Trainer Problems

The Proform 675 elliptical trainer is a basic low priced CardioCross Trainer. It is priced at 9.00 which way below the minimum 00.00 price we recommend people pay for a good elliptical trainer. It does have a number of good features that include

Wide oversized pedalsA large LCD display console that allows you to track speed, time, distance and calories.EKG grip pulse sensors for heart rateTwo speed fanIcon's SMR Silent Magnetic Resistance However it has only a very short 14 inch stride length which precludes anyone with normal or longer length legs from using this elliptical trainer comfortably. We decided to purchase the Proform 675 Elliptical trainer and give it a full test. It arrived just 2 weeks after our order. However it was broken and could not be assembled to conduct our testing. We contacted customer service to get a replacement. This request was refused but a technician was scheduled to repair it.

The repairman took 10 more days to arrive and immediately stated it was not repairable. After 3 more weeks we did receive a replacement 675 elliptical trainer. After setting it up our smallest tester who has literally hundreds of hours of elliptical trainer time took it for an initial ride. All went well for about 30 minutes when it started to generate considerable noise. After some tightening up the elliptical trainer the test was continued. After one hour of riding the Proform 675 our tester took a break and let our second tester take the elliptical trainer for a ride. It was immediately noted that the display console was not working. Despite several attempts to get it working we concluded it was dead. Again we called customer service for assistance. They were clearly irritated with our request for a new console and a visit from the technician. They did not answer our emails and only because we had access to supervisor numbers at Icon were we able to get the problem resolved. All this required another 12 days of delay.

The technician came and replaced the Proform 675 elliptical trainer console and it tested out just fine but as we were testing it, an additional problem developed. The technician noted that something was wrong with the magnetic resistance. After examination he stated that the SMR silent magnetic resistance unit was failing and would have to be replaced. Again we spent a good deal of time on the phone with customer service since they did not answer our emails. We decided to ask for a refund under the 30 refund clause. We were told that more than 30 days had elapsed since we had purchase the Proform 675 elliptical trainer and we did not qualify.

In gathering background information on this unit we came across a good number of customer reviews that found the Proform 675 to be a very poor piece of fitness equipment. The total lack of any quality and the extremely poor customer service was a common thread through most product reviews. We strongly recommend that you do not buy the Proform 675 elliptical trainer. Again it is unwise to purchase any elliptical trainer that does not have an initial cost of at least 00.00. It is paramount that you check customer reviews before you consider purchasing any elliptical trainer.

Elliptical Trainer vs Treadmill

!±8± Elliptical Trainer vs Treadmill

They have a dedicated user treadmill for years, it's time to try The Elliptical Give?

The treadmill is generally the most popular sports equipment for the home and in traditional gyms. However, the increasing popularity of elliptical trainer impact free, given the treadmill a run for their money. We examine the elliptical over the treadmill. How does it compare? What are the advantages of each? It is a betterothers?

Both ellipticals and treadmills are ideal for beginners.

First of all, both the elliptical and treadmill great facilities to get a great workout for your heart. The treadmill is ideal for beginners because you can start at a pace slower and work your way up to start a jogging and even a suit.

In addition to speed, you can also leave the treadmill training has risen more in the thigh muscles, quadriceps andbuttocks.

The elliptical is also great for beginners. Mimic the same movement, like walking, elliptical trainer is easy to learn and use.

The elliptical offers a low-impact workout on the treadmill.

The elliptical motion, low impact is a good choice for those with joint, ankle, hip or back problems. The elliptical is low impact because your feet stay on the pedals throughout the exercise, there is no impact on the ground. In fact, scientific research has proven that the elliptical trainer is a more favourable exercise for overweight patients or individuals with back, knee, or other lower leg limitations.

The treadmill is not considered a low impact exercise. Yes, the treadmill mat is less jarring than running on cement; however, your joints still absorb a significant amount of impact every time you step down onto the mat. In fact, on a treadmill, your body is absorbing up to two and half times your body weight.

The elliptical trainer versus the treadmill; both provide similar physiological benefits.

Research studies have proven that elliptical trainers and treadmills are virtually identical in terms of heart rate, perceived exertion and oxygen retention. 2 So, when evaluating the elliptical trainer versus the treadmill, you are getting the same quality cardiovascular exercise and training benefits no matter which machine you choose.

The elliptical trainer with handlebars provides a great cross training work out versus the treadmill.

The elliptical or oval shaped motion of the elliptical trainer mimics the normal motion of the foot, the extension of the leg and the rotation of the hip during walking or running. This elliptical motion uses all of your leg muscles, giving you a very effective lower body workout.

In addition to this fantastic lower body workout, an elliptical trainer with handlebars concurrently works your upper body. Approximately 30 percent of your upper body gets a workout. The treadmill only works the lower body. In fact, many treadmill users 'cheat' by hanging onto the handrail provided on the machine. Research shows that by hanging on, treadmill users are not burning as many calories and are creating an unnatural running stride.

Not only will get you get toned arms using an elliptical trainer versus the treadmill, but the arm action actually causes your heart rate to climb more quickly. In theory, this means you need less time to achieve more results.

If you are a runner, the treadmill allows you to mimic your outdoor running whereas the elliptical does not.

If you train for running events, then a treadmill is likely your preferred choice. The treadmill allows you to train indoors while performing the same exercise that you do outside. The elliptical trainer will give you an excellent workout, but may not prepare you as well as the treadmill does.

The elliptical trainer allows you to reverse direction whereas the treadmill does not.

When you're at the gym, you may notice many elliptical users moving in the reverse direction. When you change from a forward movement to a backward movement, you are working different leg muscles. Using the elliptical trainer in both directions during a workout allows you to utilize and exercise all of your leg muscles.

No matter which piece of equipment you prefer, both the elliptical trainer and treadmill will help you build bone density, improve your cardiovascular health, increase your energy levels, and burn fat and calories. If you workout in a health club, try varying your cardio workout by using several different pieces of equipment. If you have a home based gym, try out both the treadmill and the elliptical trainer to determine which one you like the best.

ProForm 895 Crosstrainer Review ZLE

!±8± ProForm 895 Crosstrainer Review ZLE

Cross-trainer (also known as elliptical trainers) provide a low impact workout and are a good way to improve fitness and lose weight.

I recently tried, the ProForm 895 Elliptical Trainer and would like to share my thoughts on the machine. It 'produced by Icon, the largest manufacturer of fitness equipment in the world.

I found the pedals large, along with the "16 step length, the action was comfortable, although users may find more than 6 feet tallCoach with a stride length is more than an action on them.

The console is a decent size and includes a fan to keep cool, and a series of speakers that connects to any audio player with a standard 3.5 mm jack. It does not replace the existing system stereo, but are definitely a nice bonus feature. One thing that is certainly not a gimmick is the iFit card slot. These are basically the SD cards, which include structured training courses, usually about 8 weeks. The smallSlot gives the Proform 895 offers unlimited flexibility.

The built-in programs to keep your workout varied, while working on your goals. There are 6 and 2 in the field of training, use the built in functionality for controlling heart rate. Please note that you need a compatible chest strap. I used my Polar belt and it worked perfectly. Check with your dealer if a belt is included.

If you do not have a chest strap, you can set the pulse sensors in the middle stages. Why not have the arms you can change the position, but only for a short period and then the heart rate displayed on the screen. As with other cross-trainer with this function, is only a snapshot and can not be checked for heart rate.

The space-saving technology and integrated wheels make the machine easy to store and allows you to share your soil if the training is over.

The machine is covered by a 2-year warranty on parts and labor, withThe frame is also covered for life. I thought it was acceptable and in comparison with other machines in this price range.

Because of its construction works and the fact that I would recommend the ProForm 895 to:

Those who need a machine with limited space, we do not compromise on quality Users who want to exercise while taking care of their joints And how people progress in a structured program

So in summary, the Proform 895 is a solidElliptical with plenty of features to keep your workout varied and effective.

Elliptical Review - Elliptical Ironman 520E

!±8± Elliptical Review - Elliptical Ironman 520E

The Ironman 520E Elliptical Trainer is a wonderful device, the quality is great and is priced pretty reasonable at around $ 799. Now you might think that is a bit 'pricey, but for a quality units should expect to pay at least that much.

Now you might ask where I can get the best deal on the elliptical trainer?

Wal-Mart sells these trainers at a reasonable price. You should be able to view and receive the product at Walmart.comAdditional Information.

When you get to break like a decent price and not have a guarantee, then buy a little 'used to be a more interested Ebay.com for you.

If money is no problem, then I would suggest buying a new Ironman Trainer for the simple fact that you know what you get, is full of a 1-year warranty and the company can take care of any problems. When buying used, then this machine does not have anythingDuty to help, since technically they are not direct customers.

I have read many reviews of the various pieces of fitness equipment and are very picky about what they actually buy. One of the keys to success if you have a purchase like this is big enough to do proper research before buying. Consumers often buy only the search. This is totally wrong!

One of the best features that people have reported is the ability to fold the ellipticalWhich is great if you're in a small house or apartment where space is at a premium to live.

It follows that the exercise bike ironman, because it is known, the Ironman 520E Elliptical is a great piece of fitness equipment.
